Grounding mobile tanks
In those production processes where mobile tanks are used for the preparation or mixing of substances that can create explosive or flammable atmospheres, it is essential to prevent the buildup of static electricity.
Therefore, prior to the start of any processing it will be necessary to properly ground the tank.
To prevent any tampering or bypassing of the grounding system, Logic has patented a mechanically coded grounding clamp for mobile tanks. The CLCD mechanically coded clamp allows connection with a dedicated connector that is installed directly on the mobile tub.
Thanks to the presence of on-board LEDs, the operator is able to verify that the connection to ground meets the maximum limit of 10 Ω.
The mechanical connection makes the system stable, ensuring a connection even in working conditions with high vibration.
in order to ensure high flexibility and integrability with the system, it is possible to couple a clamp with multiple connectors (number of connectors corresponding to the number of tanks used for this application).
The mechanically coded clamp grounding system also allows for great flexibility and integrability due to the possibility of coupling multiple connectors to a single clamp. The latter will be connected from time to time to the connector installed on the tank to be monitored.
In case it is necessary to monitor several tanks at the same time, please refer to the section “PLIP FOR MULTIPOINT SYSTEM.” (written with LINK to page : MULTIPOINT SYSTEMS)
Devices in the ECS-R range consist of an electronic monitoring system with SIL2 integrity level to be combined with the Logic CLP-CODE gripper.
Thanks to the electronics built into the device, dynamic and constant grounding monitoring can be performed during tank car loading/unloading operations. This system is able to detect a resistance of less than 10 Ω and, if the safety values are not met, immediately stops the process and warns the operator.
The range includes different solutions that can be installed in Zone 1/21, in Zone 2/22 or inside an electrical cabinet mounted directly on a DIN rail (Safe Area).
To manage maximum flexibility and adaptability of the Logic CLP-CODE grounding system, you can choose from the following accessories:
- ● CAB-ECS Electrical extension cable
- ● CR20 Cable reel with extendable cable up to 20 meters
- ● SP5/SP10 Spiral cable 5/10 mt
- ● ECS-MULTI electrical box suitable for installation of MDC monitoring systems
